Chris Reeves ties a couple of hackled dry flies

Following on from Chris's article on how to hackle dry flies he now shows us a couple of hackled dry flies that he ties and uses frequently. Chris illustrates this with flies tied using Whiting 100’s saddle hackles and Indian hackles.

 

Simple Olive (1 Hackle)

Hook:    Size 10 to 18 Dry fly or medium hook.

Silk:      8/0 Yellow

Tail:      Pale Dun

Body:    Tying silk

Hackle:  8 turns of pale-blue-dun hackle

 

 

Wingless Adams (2 Hackles)

Hook:    Size 10 to 18 Dry fly or medium hook.

Silk:      8/0 Black

Tail:      Grizzle cock hackles

Body:     Dubbed Mole

Hackle:   Red-Game hackle and Grizzle hackle tied through each other, about 4 turns of each
